ANNUAL PARISH MEETING RE-BOOT
After years of minimal attendances by the constituents of Ilkley Parish Council, this year’s event on 10 April will have a different look.
It is a requirement that the Parish Council reports every year at a specially arranged annual public meeting about what it has been doing in Ilkley. Attendance has been low over the past few years. It has not been unusual for there to be less than ten local people turning up to listen to the Chairman of the Parish Council give a report.
This year the event has been combined with two other sessions which will be of wide interest to the people of Ilkley.
There will be an update about the Ilkley Neighbourhood Plan. There has been a steady low level activity in the past few months despite the referral of the Local Plan Core Strategy to the Minister of State for Housing and Planning. The Minister, Gavin Barwell, has now released the Plan from its Temporary Holding Direction. Our Parish Council Neighbourhood Plan team can now get on with the hard work of finalising the local Neighbourhood Plan. The Team will give a presentation about the work done so far, the consultants employed to help and the efforts to be made to bring the Plan to a conclusion.
All this will be after Cllr Brian Mann, the Chairman of Ilkley Parish Council, has given his annual report explaining everything done by IPC in the past twelve months. The ups and downs, the successes and failures, and the contributions made by all the councillors, new and old.
The meeting will start at 7.30pm on Monday, 10 April 2017 at the Clarke Foley Centre on Cunliffe Road. Refreshments will be available. Everyone is invited.
